Masking Liquid & Watercoloring with Re-inkers

For today's "Ways to use it Wednesday" let's use our dies in a different way! Let's liquid mask a sentiment then watercolor over the top to reveal a beautiful clean white sentiment when we are done. I can't wait to show you how fun and relaxing painting on masks are!

Last week I showed you how to create the 'alcohol effect' without using "alcohol inks". However, I never did post the cards I made with the results of what I made in the video. I did pull them out in the beginning of the video so here they are to view again.
For the "Chick Card" I used the blue background I created on photo paper. I was looking at the background and thought it really looked like a rainy day. I even created a "Raindrops" Stencil on my Cricut then blended some rain over the background. Then I covered each droplet with Shimmery Crystal Effects. I used the top part of the Pineapple Die from "In the Tropics Dies" for the grass, which I die cut out of the green background I did on watercolor paper. The umbrella was fussy cut out of the yellow. Yes, fussy cut... I forgot I have the coordinating punch! haha You know you have too many supplies when... Lastly, I cut out some paper to resemble a "Polaroid" to nest the chick in and stamp the sentiment. Dorbs!
For the "Pineapple Card" I couldn't help seeing the yellow background on photo paper and feeling like it was representative of a sunshiny day so I used the Stitched Rectangle dies and cut that out the same way I did for the blue background on the "Chick Card" The pineapple itself was cut out of 2 different backgrounds from the watercolor paper. Doesn't that pineapple look real? I just love how it turned out.
Anyhow, enough about last weeks cards.
Here are the links to last weeks video & blog post mentioned in the video down below. Video: https://youtu.be/4NOanr0acds Blog Post: http://bit.ly/2HXMidt
This card was just as much fun! Can you see that shimmer in the watercolor rainbow? I love, love that effect. It's so shimmery and soft. It really does add just the right amount of "Umph" to the card. It is so easy to create the inks with shimmer and blend them on the watercolor paper. Now, just a note, I did use Strathmore Bristol Smooth for this card. As I find it is smooth enough to get a nice crisp outline where I applied the liquid mask/drawing gum. You will also want to use a nice smooth paper. You will see in the video how I applied the Pebeo to create this awesome background.
Wasn't that cool? I can't wait to hear if you try this and how it turned out.

Question: Did you notice this card looks just like the bunny card I posted on Sunday?

I did them all on the same day. Work smart not hard! haha.

Make Your Own Bunnies!! Way's to use it Wednesday Ep.2

Welcome back to "Way's to use it Wednesday's" Where every Wednesday, I show you something you can do with an item you may already have, that you may not have already thought of.

I'm starting to make my Easter cards. Call me an eager beaver, or BUNNY! lol
However, I have to mail some Easter cards to some friends in Cuba, and it seems the mail literally takes months, and months to get there! We sent ourselves a PostCard from Havana, Cuba on January 5th this year, and it has still yet to find it's way to our mailbox *sad face* I wonder how long it will actually take? Anyhow, to not have to risk my friends not getting their cards, I'm getting an early start =)

Aren't these little bunnies just too adorable?!? When I saw one of the little dies in the Detailed Bands Die set I instantly thought of bunny ears. Well, that was it. I was on a mission to create some little bunnies. I finally came up with the idea of using the Balloon Bouquet Punch with the 'ears' die and started making my card.

Watch the video to see how they came to life and learn a few tips & tricks =)

Wasn't that a fun video!? Thanks for Watching =)
