Let's make a MASCULINE card - Let's CASE it, Let's MAKE it! Episode 10

Welcome to Episode 10 of "Let's CASE it, Let's MAKE it"! In this series, I show you step-by-step how to recreate cards that inspire you. CASE'ing (Copy & Share Everything) is done by stampers of all skill levels. It's easy and very satisfying. Let's get started!

For this week's card, which I made 2 of, I CASE'ed a card from Page 153 of the Current Annual Catalog. For the card on the left, I used a background I created with the Pigment Sprinkles Alcohol Ink Background. If you missed that tutorial you can watch it here. The card on the right, which is the one I made in this tutorial, I decided to show you how to make it with a blended background. You can decide which background you prefer when you make your card.
I added some extra dimension on this card by putting some dimensional behind the top layer of the Brick & Mortar layer, and on the second card, I decided to adhere it right on top of the mat without added dimensionals. Again, you can decide what you like best.
I created a Step-By-Step Video so you can watch and play along. I break all the steps down and show you exactly what I did.

Which card did you prefer? If you have any questions comment below or on my YouTube channel and I will do my best to help you!
Question: Which background will you be doing? Alcohol Inks for Blended?
Let me know in the comments below, I love hearing from you!

I also LOVE seeing your cards! Feel free to join my Facebook Group and post ANY card I inspired you to make from my videos 😀

Challenges, challenges, and more challenges!

You are the BEST!
I'm a challenge addict this week! They're so much fun and some really take me out of my comfort zone...egads! In one of the challenges listed below I choose to use "Bright Bold Colors" which I normally don't gravitate towards, so ya, this pulled me out of my comfort zone for sure.

Here are the Challenges I played along with:

You have to incorporate 3 of the 10 items into your project
A sketch Challenge

So, while I love rainbows, I'm not great at creating them. I did my best to create a rainbow background incorporating "Bright Colors" One of the three things I used for #FF0052.
I have listed all the supplies for you down below.
I set out on some watercolor paper and pulled out 7 bright rainbow color ink pads and just started laying the color down. After it was dry I dripped some water droplets on it from my hand to create the light ink splatter look. I love how the water removes some of the color and creates a beautiful effect on your project. All in all, I was pretty pleased with how it turned out. As you can see I used the watercolor background in place of the doily in #TMS541. Then I had to figure out what other two things I would use from the #FF0052 list. I decided on Sequins and Foil!
This was my first attempt at foiling over an embossed image. I heat set the sentiment with clear embossing powder then ran it thru my laminator. I LOVED the results!! I was so impressed. I think I might be hooked on foiling now. I used the second largest oval die in the "Stitched Shapes Dies" to cut out my sentiment to replace the circle in the #TMS541 Sketch.
To replace the rectangle in the #TMS541 Sketch I foiled a 1/4" piece of tacky tape. I just burnished it with my bone folder and it turned out so great too! #Loveit!
I added 7 sequins to match the inks I used, then embossed the white background with an old dots Sizzix folder I had in my stash.
I hope this inspires you to play along! Let me know if you do.
Happy Stampin'
