Monster Birthday Party - Foils & Fun!

Many of you may not know this, but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Monster stamps! I don't know why, but when I see a Monster Stamp, I just gotta have it! Period. Don't ask me why it's just my "Thing" lol. I recently saw a Brutus Monroe set "Monster Party" on clearance at my local Scrapbook Store, and I couldn't snatch it off the shelf fast enough! lol

I pulled out my Whisper White Cardstock (All supplies are listed down below) and cut enough for 2 cards. I wanted to do one with Embossing Paste (for a challenge I'm too late to enter into lol) and the other in foil. I just LOVE foils!
I colored in the monsters, which I masked to fit 4 into one little 'party' with my copics. As you can see, I colored in one background and left one white. I used the Layering Circles dies to cut out the monsters and also create a frame with silver cardstock to frame in these adorable monsters.
I also used the balloons from Bonanza buddies and masked in extra balloons to go with the one that came in the monster set. I used my Sakura Gel Pen to draw in some lines and such on the masked balloons. I also used some Nuvo Drops to add some sparkle and dimension to the circles in the balloons and the monster teeth.
The sentiment is also from Bonanza Buddies, which I embossed in white. For the embossing paste, I stenciled it over a stencil I made myself with my Cricut. If you want to see a tutorial on making your own stencils with a Cricut, please comment below. If enough people ask, I will do one.
For the foiled card, I used the same stencil and used Heat Transfer gel & GinaK Sparkling Silver Fancy Foil, then ran it through my Scotch Laminator to transfer the foil to the dried gel. I love how it turned out!

Question: Do you prefer the Embossing Paste Card or the foiled one?

I entered in 2 challenges for this card

White Gouache Blossoms - Monochromatic Card

I think my favorite way to color is watercolors, I seem to gravitate towards them most often lately. I won't profess to be good at it, but it's my new thing! For this card, I pulled out my new Royal and Langnickel Gouache Watercolor Tubes, swatched them, and gave them a home in a new pallet.
I nabbed these babies off the Amazon Warehouse Deals (Canada) and Oh boy!, did I get them at a screaming deal! I've been dying to try them out. Now, one would think, that for my first time playing with my new gouache paints I would go to town, but no, I only used 3 colors! lol. I used the white Titanium White to paint the flowers and leaves, then mixed White into Burnt Umber to create the shading color for the flowers and leaves. Such a rebel Cindy-Lynn!

What is Gouache? Gouache is basically a mixture of Watercolor Paint and Acrylic Paint. It provides a more opaque color, and even looks awesome on dark papers.
I wanted to keep this card very simple, and very monochromatic. So I stamped the flower from "Forever Blossoms" on a Sahara Sand Mat with Versafine Onyx Black ink. I chose that ink because it will not bleed when wet. I did use 2 coats of paint as I think I mixed too much water into my gouache and it wasn't opaque enough for me. Once I was done painting, I put a little bit of the paint mixture on the end of an acrylic block then 'splattered' the paint onto my paper. I did this with both colors I had mixed up. Added a few sequins (my favorite things!) and a couple pearls. And that was it! I wish I had of made a couple more of these at the same time. It was so easy to do, and the result is so pretty. But, as I only have one, I may hoard it in my stash for a long time before I part with it! haha

I did enter in a few challenges for this card.
