My Grafico Blog Challenge - Halloween Colors

I happened across My Grafico the other night and spent at least 1-1/2 hrs looking at all the awesome things they have! Everything from SVGs, Digi Papers, Digi Stamps and more! I couldn't help myself and bought a few things. I really like that they have so many different artists and 'shoppes' within the site. So there is sure to be something for everyone.

They also have a weekly challenge with chances win cool stuff. You should play along with me =)

For Challenge # 63 (Use Halloween Colors) I printed off an image I purchased from their website. She is just too adorable. I fell in love with her right away! I pulled out one of Julee's old Mojo Monday Card Sketches (#137) and went to town.

I prisma colored the image then when I was shading around the witches hat I smeared a small fleck of black, left over from coloring, on the white bg. I was soooo upset!! However, any mistake is just another reason to layer right? So I made soft little black lines with the prisma pencil randomly around the image and smeared all of them too when I was shading!! LOL!! I am sooo crafty! I think it turned out perfect actually =)

I cut the left portion of the image away and then placed it on the opposite side of the DP's with the ribbon on them to make the image appear as if it was larger. Ruffled some ribbon and used some upholstery tacks on the left side. YES!! I did say UPHOLSTERY TACKS!! *grin* Whenever I am at Home Depot or any hardware store I hunt for unique upholstery tacks, then I use strong wire cutters to clip off the 'tack' and then I can add a glue dot under the head and use it like a brad. Not to mention you get like 50 - 100 tacks for a few dollars. Try getting 100 cool designer brads that size for $2- $3 bucks... I often look for things that could 'double' as a scrapbooking/stamping supply. Then I hoard it in my studio!! lol

Paper: Basic Grey - Mellow 6X6 Paper Pack, SU - Always Artichoke, Conqueror Diamond White & Misc Brown paper.
Misc: Upholstery Tacks, Misc Ribbon, Prisma Coloring Pencils; 1084, 947, 1090, 1022, 938, 914, 935, 997 & 927. Singo Gel Pens.

Thanks for visiting my blog today =) Don't forget to play for my BLOG CANDY!! You could be the lucky winner. GOOD LUCK!

Feel Better Soon Mouse

You may remember I rushed home from my parents anniversary dinner one evening last week to upload a card for a DT call only to find out it had closed as their time zone (which was not posted) was different from mine. I was totally bummed about it too as I was so pleased with my submission. HOWEVER!! I did submit a card today for a September Guest DT. I loved the little Digi Mouse over at Stephanie's Stampin Spot so I downloaded the free digi and sent it in.

I really enjoyed blowing the dust off my sewing machine and using it on this card. I remembered how much fun stitching on a card is... I will just have to do it more often! I zig-zag stitched all around the DP on the right of the card, and straight stitched over the ribbon I ruffled on the left side. I wish I could find my web cam as I was going to do a tutorial on how to do "Ruffled Ribbon". If you don't know how and really want to see a tutorial let me know. I always need a reason to spend money, and not to mention I really need the web cam to do tutorials anyhow! *wink wink* Anyhow, I like the ruffled look with the stitching a lot more than plain ruffles on the page. So I think I will do this technique more often. Note to Self: Reason to spend money and buy thread in lots of colors to match ribbon now! lol

I printed the Digi once on white, then again on a plain piece of copy paper. I used 2 pcs of blue BG Cupcake DP scraps and used temporary adhesive and placed the scraps over the clouds on the copy paper and ran it thru the copier again to print the clouds. Cut them out and placed them on top of the main digi image. I used foam pop ups under one of the clouds to make it pop from the image. I actually doodled around the main image with lines and dots AFTER I took the pic (Silly me!!) lol I am still very happy with this picture tho =)

Paper: BG - Cupcake 6X6 DP, SU Real Red & Conqueror Diamond White.
Misc: Liquid Pearls (around the scallop), Misc Ribbon, Cuttlebug Folder - Polka Dot Folder, Prisma Coloring Pencils; 914, 1084, 1086, 917, 928, 911, 924, 938 & 1089. Zig Marker, Tombo Marker (Shading) and Sakura Gel Pens

Hope you enjoyed my ramblings! Wish me luck with my submission *fingers crossed*... ok eyes and toes too! tee hee

Guest Designer Submission - OOPS!!

They have a call for a guest designer over at Just Inklined Digital Stamps. I was so excited to find out about it today! I have no idea how I missed it being posted. Anyhow, I rushed home early from my parents anniversary dinner so I could make a card to submit. HOWEVER....!!!! The midnight submission deadline was not midnight PST =( Boo Hiss So obviously I am too late this time around. Sigh....

I will still share the card with all of you as Just Inklined has some adorable Digi Stamps so you should definitely check them out.

For this card I used some totally de-lish Bo Bunny Papers, and outlined the web with my black glitter sakura gel pen. Made the spiders pop a little with my black glaze sakura gel pen, and added the RIP Tombstone sticker to hide some text on the paper I didn't want. The sticker came on a set I found at Dollarama. I must say the dollar stores in Canada have some AWESOME scrapbooking doo-dads. And who can complain at a BUCK?

I prismacolored the witch (no I haven't upgraded to markers lol - I do love my prismacolors tho) Then I placed her on a SVG File I found on the net. I can't share it with you as I can't remember where I got it, and I don't want to infringe on any one's copyright. I stickled the frame with black to make it pop a little more. Then I used liquid applique for the foam (or bubbles) coming out of the cauldren.

Paper: Bo Bunny, Conqueror White & SU Lavendar Lace
Stamps: A Good Read Digi Stamp - Just Inklined
Misc: Stickles, Sakura Gel Pens, Dollarama Sticker, Prisma Colors: 938, 1030, 912, 932, 935, 1087, 1022, 1050 &1089. Liquid Applique.

(((Hugs Thanks for the comments)))

Cemetary Halloween Card

I have been itching to make a Step Card for some time. So I decided it was time. I am busting out my Halloween cards right now. As I will be spending 3 weeks in Toronto next month at my boyfriends place and will not be able to stamp while I am there. I know that if I don't get started on my Halloween cards now they will never get done in time to send out.

Now, seeing as I had never made a step card I had no clue where to score and cut. However, I found a great template HERE at Jayni's Blog. She even has a video tutorial in case you need extra instuctions. I took a lot of time in making the SVG files for this card so that has saved you all the work as now you can download the Cemetary Card Theme HERE. Everything except the Tombstone & Ghost I created from google image photos. You can find the ghost (Which I changed a tad) HERE at My Cricut Scrapbooking. I can't for the life of me remember who's blog I got the tombstone from, but as soon as it comes to me I will come back and link to them I promise!

Paper: Reminisce Paper, SU-Sahara Sand & Confetti, Black CS and Conqueror Diamond White
Misc: Singo Pens, SU Chalks, Cricut

A Haunted Halloween

I just love Halloween, and when I saw a really cute card on Leigh's Blog. I just had to pull out, and dust off my Halloween papers! Not to mention I have finally figured out the right place and background to take my photos. So I was super excited at how well the images turned out for this card.

This was such a fun card! I cased the Sizzix website (not sure if I am allowed to do that or not) but I found a really cool haunted house on their site. So I cut it in my MTC. I have uploaded all the SVG's I used on the card into one neat little file for you HERE.  The image I found on the internet at I altered it to suit what I wanted to do.

I really enjoy picking through coloring book pages for me free digi stamps. I was also really surprized that the ink from my printer does not bleed when I prisma color them! So that is a major bonus. I use Conqueror CX22 Diamond White 80# Paper and have an HP C6180 All in One. So that combo is awesome for all you Prisma Color Lovers.

Isn't this image just the cutest? I love her! I am sure I will use her many times this Halloween. I'm kinda bummed that a fleck of glitter I used on the house dried in the witches eye, but I can live with it. With my luck you probably wouldn't have even noticed if I didn't mention it right? lol

Papers: Bo Bunny, Reminisce, SU - Pumpkin Pie & Grey and Bazzill.
Stamps: Coloring Book Page
Misc: Reminisce Stickers (moon), Martha Stewart Onyx Glitter, Misc Ribbon, Singo & Sakura Pens, Prisma Colors; 945,1050,1089,935,942,912,1026,938,996,1032 and the Grey Shading Tombo Marker.

Blah Blah Blah...

When I was blog hopping the other morning I came across some inspiration over at Bits of Paper. When I saw her Blah Blah Blah page I just knew I had to do one as well. With there being a totally different story behind my page I still wanted to thank Jamie for the inspiration =)

While I have yet to master taking photos of my scrapbook pages, I think this pic turned out ok.

I am really happy with the way this page turned out. Printing the pics and making the title in MTC took me longer than putting the page together tho! All these new tools... They may save $ in the long run, and yes we can make some cool things with them... but oh my do they take up a lot of time! I thought I could save you some time by sharing the Blah Blah Blah SVG  & Blah Blah Font Used. Please remember if you use the files to link back to my blog =) TY

Paper: We R Memory Keepers - Teen Angst
Bazzill Textured CS - Blue & Black
Elements: We R Memory Keepers matching Chipboard pcs, Dollarama RhineStone Brads, White Sakura Gel Pen & Misc Ribbon.

Got My Mojo On!

If you haven't ever seen Mojo Monday you must run over there right after you are done here! Julee's Blog has the best sketches. There is a huge archive also, so if you need inspiration that is the place to go

I play along often, but as I didn't have a photo editing program I couldn't upload my cards. Of course I have fixed that issue, so now you can see what I created with the Mojo Sketch

I was surfing on Google for some coloring book images when I found this Bratz Girl! She is just divine! I love her =) So of course I had to print her as a digi stamp. I have uploaded her HERE for you to use. Please remember to link back to me if you use her on your blog.

Paper: Memmory Box 6 X 6 - Romance Collection
           Stampin' Up! - Chocolate Chip
           Conqueror White
Stamps: Bratz Digi Stamp
Misc: Cuttlebug Snowflakes Embossing Folder, Misc Ribbons, Hair Bobby Pin from Dollarama, Prismacolor Pencils: PC 935, 938, 927, 930, 947, 997, 1050 & 929. Sakura Gel Pens & Stickles.

What Have I been Up To?

The free trial for my Photoshop ran out, and I just didn't want to spend the $ on purchasing it, so I couldn't upload any photos as I couldn't watermark them. So that brought everything to a halt as well. However, I recently downloaded Paint.Net which I really like. It is very similar to Photoshop, but FREE!! So now I can edit all my photos and do that I need to upload them online.
I have also been diving deeper into my Make The Cut program and learning all about Inscape (Inscape is also FREE). I am amazed at everything I have learned, not to mention the really cool things I can create! I promise to share everything I make with all of you.

In the meantime, I will post some of the pages I have made a while ago. Forgive me for not including the "Ingredients" but I lost the papers I had everything written down on =(

I have uploaded any SVGs that I used on the pages so I could share them with all of you.

I absolutely LOVE Survivor! This past season was definately one of my favorites. Hero's vs. Villians. Many of my past favorites were cast to be on Season 20. I don't care what anyone says Survivor changed the face of Reality Television and will always capture my attention! You can download the SURVIVOR HEROS VS VILLIANS SVG FILE HERE

One of the things I miss the most about living in Las Vegas was Sushi Twister. It was a 4 min drive from my house. They had the BEST sushi, and even had all you can eat for $22!! There isn't ANY sushi places in lil' ole North Bay. So when mum and I went shopping in Sudbury (1 1/2 hrs north of here) I took her out for lunch at Uma Sushi. It was very yummy!! I saved the chop sticks and put them on the page. They look cute, but the page protector doesn't care too much for them in my album.

Who doesn't love to play scratch n' wins? I don't play them that often, but one day I told myself to keep my losers for a scrapbook page. I am such a hoarder. I keep everything! So these are all losing tickets but the idea is there. Imagine... I always imagine what I would spend the money on if I did actually win anything substancial so the paper pieces of journaling are all the things I would do with the cash if (and when) I win. Sorry no SVGs for this layout as I used Chipboard pieces.
Well, that's all for today. Thanks for visiting my blog!

Make The Cut - Sure Cuts a Lot

I, (like most people) have a Cricut Machine. However, I do NOT purchase cartridges. I use Make The Cut. A Program that allows me to cut images on my cricut without purchasing a program. I am learning about the different types of files and such at the present. But I have spent hours and hours downloading font, dingbats, widgets, and SVG files to print on my Cricut. I plan on sharing them on my blog once a week. 'IF' I can disipline myself to post that often! haha

Feel free to ask questions about the program and we can learn together =)
